Indian River, FL
Indian Riverside Park sits along the Indian River bank, and features a colorful interactive fountain. The fountain was added in 2009. The fountain designers wanted to create a compass-style fountain with water spray points on each cardinal direction point and in between. Mosaic tiles were used to achieve the colorful compass design for the fountain deck.
Delta Fountains was asked to design and manufacture the equipment based on the fountain designer’s plan for the area. The interactive fountain includes three zones with a total of 16 custom discharge sumps with bronze grates. The outer eight sumps house finger jet nozzles, while the inner eight sumps house smooth bore nozzles. A 6- by 6-foot collector tank placed under the center of the fountain houses a pod jet with five smooth bore nozzles. Each sump includes a 75-watt wet-dry light fixture for illumination. The fountain equipment, including vertically mounted centrifugal feature pumps, is located in a remote equipment room.
